An outdoor kitchen is plumbing, gas and electrical work that happens to have stone on it. The cabinetry is 316 stainless because 304 pits within sight of salt air and within a season of a chlorinated pool. The services are run and inspected before any masonry closes them in.

How we build it

CABINETRY: 316 stainless, powder-coated or bare Marine grade. 304 will pit near a pool or the shore.
COUNTER: 3 cm granite or full-body porcelain Porcelain will not fade or stain; granite is warmer and needs sealing.
GAS: Sized line with a key valve Sized for the total BTU of everything on the run, not just the grill.
ELECTRICAL: Dedicated 20 A GFCI circuit A refrigerator and an ice maker on the general circuit will trip it.
DRAINAGE: Weeped base · pitched counter Water gets in. The detail is making sure it gets back out.
